SVN Learning Modules through CoursePark
SVN now has five online learning modules available through CoursePark. Topics covered in these four evidence based modules are PAD/ABI (Peripheral Arterial Disease/Ankle-Brachial Index), Aortic Aneurysms, Carotid Artery Disease, PAD Management and Venous Disease.
The PAD/ABI Module
This was the first module was launched by SVN in December 2011. This course provides an overview of Peripheral Artery Disease including pathophysiology, etiology, risk factors, medical management, surgical management and how to measure and interpret the ABI in the clinical setting using a Doppler.
Aortic Aneurysm Module
This course defines both abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms, identifies the risk factors, etiology, and clinical manifestations of aortic aneurysms, reviews the medical, endovascular and surgical management of aortic aneurysms and identifies the complications and nursing role in caring for patients associated with both endovascular and surgical repair of aortic aneurysms.
Carotid Artery Disease Module
This course will provide the learner a comprehensive overview of cerebrovascular disease, including etiology, risk factors, incidence, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and medical and surgical management.
This course expands on the PAD/ABI module and provides the learner a review of peripheral artery disease (PAD), as well as a more in-depth discussion about the clinical presentation, diagnosis, medical, endovascular and surgical management of PAD.
Venous Disease Module
This course will provide the learner a comprehensive overview of the etiology of venous disease, venous anatomy, risk factors, venous hypertension, varicose veins, thrombophlebitis and venous insufficiency, clinical presentation, diagnosis, medical, endovascular and surgical management.
